Should the robot be with a Front Wheel Drive or a Rear Wheel Drive to make it more precise? The answer is - front wheel will probably give you better results, but the wheel drive is not the most important thing. In this video tutorial on the LEGO Mindstorms Robots, we will do a few experiments to discuss the influence of the wheel drive on the precision of the movement.
This video is about a lever that should be pushed and this lever is connected to an axle. This means the lever should rotate. It is a common mission on robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League/World Robotics Olympiad. The inspiration for this mission is the FLL 2012 Senior Solutions Oven mission. In this video tutorial we demonstrate an attachment that can accomplish Drop missions. A drop mission is when you have to move on the FIRST LEGO League field with the robot, reach a mission model, and drop a part in this mission model. First time we saw such missions I think was in FLL 2013. The attachment, the robot and the mission model could be build from a single LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor 51515 set. The robot is an modular construction that you could easily build upon. It is not entirely "clean" as it has parts of it not optimezed as in the other box robots, but it is a nice example and a great work from the FLL team.
