Scratch (Word Blocks) program to accurately reach a mission model with basic use of Motion Sensor from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime

In this program, we present an "MY BLOCK" that follows a line presented as a yaw angle from the robot's starting position. If the program acts differently when tested again, then the most likely problem is the direction the robot is facing, when starting the program. Make sure to place the robot at the correct starting position with the correct facing direction, before every test.

This program was intended for and tested on the Gazon robot

How to open?

Programs with extension *.llsp could be opened with version 2 of the LEGO Scratch Word Blocks software. It is also known as 'SPIKE Legacy'. You can download it from LEGO website. You can also visit spikelegacy.legoeducation.com to use it online Note that this programs are incompatible with version 3 of the software.

LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Programming for competition with Word Blocks

Two concepts are important for robotics competitions - consistently navigate and position the robot exactly where we need it to be on the field, and builing attachments that would accomplish a mission once we have reached it. This course is focused on the first part. The second part is the whole FLLCasts platform, but start at FIRST LEGO League with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime. "Challenge" competition for 9-16 years old

The goal of this course is the help you learn to program LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robots to behave consistently and reliably during competitions. As a language we use LEGO Education SPIKE App Word Blocks which is based on Scratch. We look at a lot of concepts that could be used for FIRST LEGO League and World Robot Olympiad competitions - eg how to follow a line fast, slow, in a smooth way, with 5 states. Also how to align to lines, how to do double alignment, how to keep a straight line with motion sensor.

Motion Sensor - Accurately reach a mission model with advanced programs

In this video tutorial we use the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Motion Sensor to reach a mission model on the field. It's a basic use of the motion sensor that we will extend in the next few tutorials and in the same time we take the opportunity to demonstrate what a MyBlock is and how to develop one. As a result of this video you will learn how to make the program easier to read and maintain by organizing the blocks in the program in special MyBlocks that couple them all together.
