Many FLL competitions have a mission for demolition. You should always destroy something, but destroy it in a regulated manner and probably collect the destroyed mission model after that.

It is interesting that the demolition is near the base so it could be destroyed and the robot could be return back to base very fast.

For our next video we've stopped at the Demolition Mission from the First Lego League 2015 Trash trek competition. And again, we are presenting a solution from one of the teams.
Especially for us whenever we destroy something it is always very funny. And this mission is quite interesting because it can be accomplished in a number of ways. We have this lever here that moves the platform up. We also let me just attach the lever to the platform
like this so we can move the whole platform up and this will destroy this construction here. And it's pretty easy to destroy it. So, what the ELM Team has done is the following. They have a very interesting attachment to the robot and the attachment looks like this. So, they move with the robot and when they reach the mission model or somewhere near the mission model they just rotate this gear wheel here and the whole element expands and destroys the Demolition Mission model. And that is pretty simple, very interesting but how do you add this to the robot? Because as you can see it has one, two, three, four, five, six, seven pins. But these pins are pins with axles. Let's see how they add this to the robot. This here is the robot. And on its right side the back right side it has a medium motor. And this medium motor rotates this gear wheel. And you can add another gear wheel on top of this. How do you do this? You just place the gear wheel like this. And it's pretty fast. And then you attach the two red pins over here. And now when the robot moves it moves on the field and it reaches the mission model it just expands this attachment and it destroys the Demolition Model. That's it. A whole movement like this. And if we have the model right here we just move and we destroy it.
This is how the ELM Team are doing it. So if you are doing this mission in any other way, just drop us an email or comment in the comment section below. Share a video with us just to see how you are solving this First Lego League Trash trek mission model.
