Load cargo containers safely and efficiently
10 out of 10 tutorials are about accomplishing missions in a reliable and repeatable way. In this video tutorials we accomplish the Step Counter mission 10 out of 10 times. We can push on the mission model, but if we push too hard we would lock it and there is no way back. So we use a slightly different approach. Check out the video to see how.
10 out of 10 tutorials for the Slide mission was a challenge. There were a lot of glitches with different attachments that we built. At the end we have an attachment that is able to reliably pull the mini figures up, then forward, then down which.
This short animation demonstrates a really useful principle for FIRST LEGO League competition and this is how to use the Inertia of the robot to trigger an attachment that will do the work for us. It is very useful as we don't have to use the motors of the robot and we can afford to use the motors for other things.
In this video tutorial we continue the exploration of pinless attachments and how to add them and remove them in a quick fashion. We've done this for SPIKE Prime and for EV3 and we will provide some other references in the lesson in the course. The idea of an attachment below the robot is that sometime, during FIRST LEGO League competitions we have to bring a mission model from one place of the field to other. Basically push it.
This animation demonstrates a vertical lift attachment. This is an attachment that transfer a circular motion from the motors to a linear motion and is a very powerful concept. We demonstrate it with a LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor robot build from 51515 set. This is arguably one of the most complex attachments in this course.
This video tutorial had a different idea than what we recorded. We planned for a push/pull attachment as we've shown such attachments for LEGO Education SPIKE PRIME and LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3. However, the issues with LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor set 51515 is that we could not figure out an easy way to build a push pull attachment that meets our criteria for an attachment. Because of this we made a slight modification on the idea and it is again push/pull attachment but not moving in a line but in a circle - circular movement.
Instead of aligning forward as in the previous tutorial we felt there is a need to demonstrate how we could align backward when moving with the robot. This is not a rare case. The attachments of the robot are generally at the front of the robot and especially during FIRST LEGO League competitions the robot must move backward very often. It is helpful to have in your toolbox the ability to align backward with the robot.
This is a 10 out of 10 video tutorial that demonstrates the consistency and reliability of the robot that accomplishes the Unlock Cargo Plane mission. The attachment is an active attachment with gear wheels. It has a single lever constructed from 2 beans and we use this attachment to push on the mission model.
In this video tutorial, we demonstrate the accomplishment of three missions in a single run. The competition is FIRST LEGO League 2022/2023 SUPERPOWERED and the missions involve carrying and delivering a dinosaur toy, delivering energy units, and delivering the innovation project model.
This is a 10 out of 10 tutorial demonstrating the consistency with which the Kufar robot accomplishes M12, M13, and M15 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge season. Kufar is an out-of-the-box LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot, meaning you don’t need to connect attachments—just slide the brick into the attachment frames.
In this run, the robot collects the mini-figures using a rubber band mechanism, rotates the chicken with a gear mechanism, and pushes and pulls the M13 Craft Creator mission model.
In this video tutorial, we focus on accomplishing M04, M14, and M15 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge competition. We use the MiniBox, a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot equipped with several attachments. The goal of the robot is to deliver the LEGO mini figures to their designated place and then press down the M03 platform to trigger the immersive experience for the viewer in the mission model.
In this video tutorial, we take a closer look at completing M04, M05, M14, and M15 of the FIRST LEGO League 2023-2024 MASTERPIECE Challenge competition. We use the MiniBox, a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot equipped with several attachments. The robot needs to accurately drop the mini-figures and the Masterpiece mission model, then rotate the Augmented Reality Statue to reveal its experience—efficiently and predictably.
