Laboratory 2.0 is a second and lighter version of the Laboratory. The new version of the robot replaces its motor with a gyroscope and uses a lightweight flip. Programming this robot requires a well-developed abstract thinking. The main purpose of the robot is to measure the volume of the bubble placed in it only by the values ​​measured by the sensors.

The construction has a valve with which you can let the air out of the balloon at different speeds.

How exactly the balloon is placed in the robot is explained in this lesson.

This is a vehicle that is used to help you to learn programming, to experiment with addons, attachments and constructions. It has a frame. Which is nice. A frame is always nice. 

It has two wheels at the back, but this is needed only if you have them.

An awesome ski-jet robot, steering with a medium motor and powered by a single large motor. It also has a pair of inclined treads, making it especially well-suited for the harsh winter terrain.

This module is meant to be used in EV3 Kinesthetic and Memory Game and is attached to the base of the robot. This module uses the ultrasonic sensor to detect the hands of the player. Attention must be paid to where the module is attached since it can be activated by accident if the player reaches for another module over this one.

Background

A space telescope is astonishing, but it can’t beat the accessibility and simplicity of a college or science museum observatory – that is, if you know how and where to point it.

Mission

Rotate the observatory to a precise direction.

Scores

• Get the pointer tip completely in orange, or partly covering either of orange’s end-borders: 20 OR
• Get the pointer tip completely in white: 18 OR
• Get the pointer tip completely in grey, or partly covering either of grey’s end-borders: 16
• Possible Scores: 0, 16, 18, 20

Scoring Requirements

• The result must be visible at the end of the match.

Building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Motorcycle, but this time with helper wheels. The helper wheels solve the problem of making turns with the robot. If the robot loses balance it will fall. The goal of the helper wheels is to make it easier for the robot to turn. Small modification, but really make a difference. 

Background

Though spacecraft travel crazy-fast, even the shortest trips involve a lot of time for the traveller’s body away from labour and recreation, which is bad for the heart and lungs.

Mission

The robot needs to repeatedly move one or both of the exercise machine’s handle assemblies to make the pointer advance.

Scores

• Get the pointer tip completely in orange, or partly covering either of orange’s end-borders: 22 OR
• Get the pointer tip completely in white: 20 OR
• Get the pointer tip completely in grey, or partly covering either of grey’s end-borders: 18
• Possible scores: 0, 18, 20, 22

Scoring Requirements

• Advance the exercise machine’s pointer along its dial by moving one or both of the handle assemblies. > Only allowed method. Must be observed by the referee.
• Results must be visible at the end of the match.

This module is meant to be used in EV3 Kinesthetic and Memory Game and is attached to the base of the robot. This module uses the rotation sensor in the medium motor to detect how much the players had turned its wheel.

Cody is a robot, designed to move in a straight line. It has a single motor, rotating two wheels. Behind the motor, Cody holds a Color Sensor. These two combined could be programmed to work as a barcode reader, measuring the length of any color beneath the robot.

Value was inspired by the spy vehicle robot. This little robot was built to measure the volume of the room he's in.

Background

Solar panels in space are a great source of energy for a space station in the inner solar system, but since things in space are always moving, aiming the panels takes some thought.

Mission

Solar panels need to be angled toward or away from you, depending on strategy and conditions.

Scores

• Both solar panels are angled toward the same field: 22 (for both teams)

• Your solar panel is angled toward the other team’s field: 18

• Possible scores: 0, 18, 22, 40 as shown below and seen from above your north border, facing north.

“Your” solar panel is the one on your west end of the table.

Scoring Requirements

• Results must be visible at the end of the match.

Building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 active attachment for changing gears orientations. This is the second attachment from the series.

This is version 2 of the LEGO Mindstorms Grabber. It makes use of 4 gears to make both levers active.  

This module is meant to be used in EV3 Kinesthetic and Memory Game and is attached to the base of the robot. This module uses the color sensor to detect the colors on its wheel.

Winter might be far away or it might just be coming - depending of course on where you are in the world. But you can always spend a few hours having fun with a LEGO Mindstorms Snowmobile. A really challenging construction that requires good preparation, concentration and a lot of efforts to complete. Same is going to the mountain in the winter. But the reward at the end is worth it. 

Building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robot base. The attachment of the motors is quite interesting. We follow the angles of LEGO technic to attach them. This construction has some difficulties turning to the left and to the right. But if you have to take on an obstacle that high this is one of the options. 

You can use all kinds of wheels on this robot - EV3, NXT or others. It doesn't actually matter.

This a the Dinore3x, the predecessor of the mighty Triceratops. This is one of the classic EV3 robots provided by LEGO. 

Chronos means time in Greek.

What's the time? Time to build a cool robot! This robot is made to look like a clock. The two hands are each connected to a motor and are positioned between the two motors. This makes it simple to build, while also being effective in showing how a clock works.

Not all LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robot should be aligned horizontally or vertically. It is quite possible to have the brick and the motors attached in such a way that the robot is at a certain angle. 

This is a very useful small construction that could be used as a base and extended with hands and heads or other interesting ....robot body parts.
