Light sensors cover on LEGO Mindstorms NXT robots

In this video we are solving one of the most important challenges on the FIRST LEGO League competition, i.e how to cover your Mindstorms NXT light sensors so that they are not affected by outer light sources at the day of the competition. Once again you would find 3 solutions and more will come in the next videos.

A common problem at the competition is that most of the time the light sensors are affected by light sources in the room, in the hall, in the venue, so to make an efficient robot you must find a way to cover the light sources so there is no other light sources that affect the work of the sensors. Today we are going to show you a few ways to cover the light sources on this robot, to cover the light sensors, and in one of the next videos probably we are going to show you in details how to calibrate the sensors and what you can do with the sensors. One of the first ways you can cover the sensors on this construction, on this robot is to use two very simple parts. You can cover it from here. We have come up with another part we could use for covering the sensor, it looks like this. I will probably remove the tier and I will keep it right here. Currently the right sensor is much well covered than the left sensor. We have also come up with another idea to cover sensors, it includes these six parts attached to each other. I will put them right here. And in this way you can cover your light sensors so that they are not affected by the light in the venue.
