Nautiq - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot
Nautiq is a unique little robot — and the smallest box robot we’ve ever built! It was designed especially for the FLL competition, where having a small and smart robot can be a big advantage. Even though Nautiq is tiny, it’s packed with clever features — like gears that point in different directions — so you can create all kinds of fun and useful attachments.
But keep in mind: small robots like Nautiq can find it tricky to push or lift heavy things. That’s why Nautiq is part of a course that shows cool ways to get around those challenges and still succeed in missions!

Rollie - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot
The Rollie robot is a compact, box-shaped robot built entirely using LEGO Spike Prime components. It incorporates six Technic Gear 28-Tooth Double Bevel gears, even though the standard Spike Prime set includes only five. If you don't have a spare gear, you can substitute the two front gears with a Technic Connector Circular with 2 Pin Holes and 3 Axle Holes, or any other compatible gear available in the set. Rollie is engineered with a minimalist design approach, using a limited number of parts from both the base set and the expansion pack, making it efficient and easy to rebuild.

Unchained Monster - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot
Do you remember the Chain Monster Box Robot? This one is the same but without the chains. What is cool about this robot is you can use almost all Chain Monster attachments and build a lot more.

MiniBox - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot
The MiniBox box robot features a unique design with three perpendicularly rotating gearwheels, which simplifies the attachment design process. This setup allows teams to easily create and connect attachments on multiple sides, making it quick to adjust the robot for various tasks.
Its structure includes walls with a maximum attachable surface area, offering flexibility in attachment placement. This extensive surface allows for secure connections, so teams can experiment with different attachment configurations.
The MiniBox’s compact size is best suited for smaller, lightweight attachments. When working with larger attachments, its balance and stability can be affected, limiting its effectiveness in tasks that require more substantial setups.

Boxver - a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot
Thinking about box robots with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, Boxver is a good example. It is tiny, kind of small and has the brick in a vertical position. Two motors at the front. The goal of this robot is to achieve reliability and consistency of the behavior of the robot.

Kriket - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot
This is Kriket. Kriket is an example of a Box robot assembled from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime and could be used during a competition like FIRST LEGO League to achieve a smooth, repeatable behaviour of the robot. In fact. This is why it was designed. The goal of Kriket is to be a "Box Robot" and to allow for attachments to be glided on top of it. Check the courses for Kriket to understand more about how it could be used.
The robot requires a few more parts than the standard LEGO Education SPIKE Prime + Extension sets, but it is worth purchasing and having them

Chain Monster - a SPIKE Prime Box Robot commanding the attachments with chains
We experimented with building a box robot powered entirely by chains—a unique approach inspired by the original LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Robots. Chains like these can be hard to find, but we thought: why not try to power both the robot and its attachments with them? This design not only powers the entire robot but also provides a great demonstration of how and when chains can be effectively used in robotics.
To build this robot, you'll need approximately 180 chain links (part 3711a), which are available in the NXT kits and some Technic sets.
Please note that this robot requires additional components beyond those included in the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime and SPIKE Essential kits. Check out the additional parts required.

Light Cooley, a box robot robot chassis from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, with 3D building instructions

Gazon, LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot
The story goes like this. Two engineers meet at a bar (or on discord during the pandemic) discussing which robot to use for this year FIRST LEGO League 2020 Replay Solution and Review with explanations. They started their cameras, had a hot Carolina Reaper, had an argument, hugged each other and decided to build Gazon and use this new robot for the competition. So here it is. Small, 4 motors, 2 color sensors, stable, light.

Whakatae V2 - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Competition Box robot
This incredibly compact SPIKE Prime Box Robot is made for competitions like FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and World Robotics Olympiad (WRO). Whakatae (from Maori's word "whakataetae", which means "competitive") is long 17 LEGO units and is with a width of 15 LEGO units. In front of the wheels it has two color sensors which it uses to align. Whakatae also has two Large motors for moving and has two medium motors for attachments!
It's has "V2" in its name, because it's the second version of Whakatae - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime Competition Box robot. The difference between the two is that the first one can be built with only a Large Motor and a Color sensor in addition to the Base set, while this one needs an additional ball bearing. This provides this robot with a lot more stability and can be seen as a true upgrade to the first version.

Robotistka, a competition box robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, with 3D building instructions
With Robotistka we can almost use the full potential of the LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot to prepare for robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League. It is small, it is a Box Robot, it has two motors at the front and two color sensor for the line.

Whakatae - LEGO Education SPIKE Prime box robot
This incredibly compact SPIKE Prime Box Robot is designed for competitions such as the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and World Robot Olympiad (WRO). Named Whakatae, derived from the Māori word "whakataetae," meaning "competitive," this robot measures 17 LEGO units in length and 15 LEGO units in width. It features two color sensors in front of the wheels for precise alignment, two large motors for movement, and two medium motors for attachments.
The best part? You can build this SPIKE Prime Box Robot using just the Base Set, an additional large motor, and a color sensor!
