Gazon 2.0, a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot

After the success of the original Gazon robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, we've decided the build a similar robot, but from LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515. Teams are participating in the FIRST LEGO League competition with a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor set and we know it will be helpful. But this robot can not be build from a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515 as the set has only one Color sensor. We've build a version of the Gazon robot to address this specific limitation.

FIRST LEGO League with LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor. "Challenge" competition for 9-16 years old

The goal of this course is to take you through some of the most useful principles for building and using attachments to accomplish missions at FIRST LEGO League competitions. The whole course is based on a LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor and you need a single 51515 set and without additional parts (you will need a second color sensor for the lessons for using two color sensors, but feel free to skip them if you don't have it). For every mission there is a Scratch and Python program attachment. The course consists of 25 lessons suitable for beginner and advanced students. Every lessons consists of a video tutorial demonstrating the principle and how the mission could be accomplished along with building instructions for the robot, the attachment and programs for controlling the robot.

Align using two Color Sensors and a line

This animation demonstrates the principle of aligning to a line with two color sensors and a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot. This is a useful concept for FIRST LEGO League competitions where you want to know exactly where you are on the field and to achieve consistent behavior. In the course lesson you will also find a live video tutorial where we enter into more details about aligning. We align the robot to a line by moving both sensors slowly until they both see a black line. When one of them sees the line we move only the other. At the end we return the first sensor back.

FIRST LEGO League 2020-2021 RePlay Solutions and review with Robot Inventor

This course presents Solutions and Review of the FIRST LEGO League 2021 RePlay competition and it uses LEGO MIndstorms Robot Inventor as a base. It is a mirror course to the LEGO Education SPIKE course for the same competition. For each mission in the competition the course contains the rules for the mission, a tutorial how to accomplish it, instructions for the robot that is used and instructions for the attachment that is used. Every lesson also contains a Scratch and a Python program for accomplishing the mission and of course a 10 out of 10 tutorial that demonstrated how reliable the approach is. Upon completion of the course you will have many new ideas about how to approach mission on every FLL robotics competition and how to help your team score more points.

M08. Boccia Target

In this video tutorial we accomplish the Boccia mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition. We use LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot. In this mission we use an attachment that does three things in the same time - align, push one lever and drop a couple of boxes in a target. It is a complex attachment and it is worth the watch.

This FRIST LEGO League video tutorial is about he Boccia Share mission from FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition. In the tutorial we demonstrate how to push on a lever to release a mission model part - in this case a box. You have the choice before the competition to cooperate with the other team and to decide if you are going to do the blue or the red box.

M11. Treadmill

In this video tutorial we use an active attachment with a gears, built only form LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor parts, to accomplish the FIRST LEGO League 2020 Treadmill mission. The goal of the mission is to rotate the mission model for a couple of seconds so that a pointer makes a half circle rotation. What you will learn is a good principle to approach such missions.

M02. Step Counter

In this FLL video tutorial we accomplish the step counter mission. We use a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor robot. The idea of the mission is to control the robot in a very precise way so that it could slowly push on the mission model and accomplish it. This video tutorial demonstrated the use of an active gear attachment for catching a wheel and pulling it. This is how we accomplish the Rowing Mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2021 competition.
