It's time that we program our robot. The first step in this process is to start the SPIKE software and make a new project.

Finding the SPIKE shortcut and creating a new SPIKE Project

To start a new project, we need to click the "SPIKE Prime" button and then click the plus icon over "New Project" .

A menu for creating a project should open. There, we need to click on the "Word Blocks" button and finish creating by clicking the "CREATE" button.

You now have your first program!

Before we program the robot, we need to connect our robot to the computer. This way we can send the program to the hub. To do this we need to first click on Connect. Then find our hub from the list and click Connect again.

Right now this program does not make the robot do anything. To do this we need a programming block.

To get a movement block, we first need to go to the "MOVEMENT" section.

There we click and hold the first purple movement block and drag it close to the starting block.

Now our program would make the robot move, the only thing we need is for the program to be uploaded on the hub. To do that we need to go to the bottom right of the screen, near the button with the number 0. Then we click the button that looks like a downwards arrow and wait for it to load. When we hear a sound from the hub, that means our program is ready to be started from the robot.

To start the program from the hub, we need to find the number 0 on its screen. We can do that using the left and right arrows to switch left and right through the programs. Usually you need only one click to the right, but you might need more.

The last step to start the program is to put the robot on the start line, click the big center button and GO! If everything is correct, the robot should move for 10 centimeters and stop.
