Passwords have existed long before the invention of computers. In the past, when there were no ID cards, some palace guards required a password from the people who wanted to enter. Today passwords are used to protect personal data. The level of protection of a password is assessed according to the number of symbols it consists of. If the password has only numbers, it is called a PIN code and has the lowest level of protection. If the password has letters and numbers, its level of protection is medium. If the password has numbers, letters and special characters, its level of protection is the highest.

What is the difference between a password and a PIN code?
The more valuable the information of a company is, the more hackers are trying to steal it. To prevent them from doing so, experts have created programs generating incredibly long passwords. Such passwords cannot be remembered which is why they are stored on flash disks.

This is the fifth level of the Robotics with LEGO curriculum for students in fifth to twelfth grades.
In this level students will learn how to work with data measured by the sensors. The concept of Algorithm is introduced and the programs perform calculations without knowing the values beforehand. The programming blocks transfer data between each other via data wires. The robots are designed to address the problems of security systems. Variety of alarm systems are built and the physical principles of different security methods are considered.

Introduction
In the previous lesson we prevented the cake robbers from escaping our prison but the attention they received had a negative impact on society. At schools students started imitating them and stealing their fellows’ desserts. This should stop once and forever! To cope with the problem we are going to launch a new type of lunch boxes which require a password to open.
