Introduction

Today we build a sailboat or should we call it a sailbot!
Have you seen sailboat? Do you know why those boats are called sailboat?

As you may guess for the name those boats use sails to propel. With the help of the sails, the sailboats manage to harvest wind power. When there is wind, it blows the sails and the boat starts moving.

Before modern engineering discoveries and the invention of engines, this was the main way to move on water. Sailboats are extremely fast and if there is strong enough tailwind they can go with speeds above 45 km/h. For comparison, ships nowadays reach speeds of 50-60 km/h. Of course, there are ultrafast boats that can go with more than 500 km/h, as the water speed record stays at 511.121 km/h

Although, they were eco friendly, sailboats are hugely dependent on the wind and its existence. That is why nowadays they have almost no usage, apart from tourist attraction and beautify the ports. Often there are competitions called regatta. In those competition the crews show their skills while competing on a given path. That is what we will be doing today!
