We call the next robot Space Explorer. It is part of our classes in robots and is like the 7th robot in the sequence, but we decided to make it the third robot in "A robot a 'day'". The goal of the robot is to explorer and that's why it has an Ultrasonic Sensor. So get yourself ready.

This is a LEGO Technic Flat Panel 5 x 11 (64782). Most of the time this part is not mandatory. We add it to make the robot more beautiful and complete here and there. It is worth the exercise of trying to replace this part with others that you have in your set.
This Tutorial is used in the following courses and lessons

After enrolling in this course we will send you a few (1-2-3) emails each month with a title "A robot a 'day'". Each email contains a robot building instructions and/or video tutorials and/or tasks that should be accomplished. After a task is accomplished we might sometimes ask for a video or picture.
This process gives a structure of the learning process where you can learn from the content. The student participates in a course, but from home and on the schedule that you decide.
Building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robot that we call Space Explorer. The motors are attached in a very interesting way to the brick. Both the brick and the motors are vertical and there are not many robots like this. With its ultrasonic sensor, this robot allows you to follow, find or avoid objects. Just like an explorer. And since it is a robot why not put it in space and call it "Space Explorer".
There is one part that is not from the EV3 sets, but you can actually skip it. You don't need it. Try to find which one.
