The robot slides the people (called “slide figures”) down the slide and moves them to other areas.

If only one slide figure is off the slide: 5
If both slide figures are off the slide: 20
If a slide figure is completely in home: 10 max
If a slide figure is held completely off the mat by the heavy tire and is touching nothing else: 20 max

Note

Off the slide” scores if the slide figure’s black frame is past/ below the tip of the slide’s gray slide part.

Notice the score for two slide figures off is 20, not 25.

Rules.

FLLCasts Tip

The figure at the top can be just pushed with a simple passive attachment, while the robot passes the mission model. You just need to attach it high enough. However, for the second figure you will need to have an active attachment that pushes it upwards until it reaches the top. This can be quite easily solved with some of the box robots with XY mechanism. You need to be careful, where the slide figures fall as it may prove difficult to collect them and bring them pack to base. You can try to put one of the figures on top of the heavy tire, just remember to do it after you have flipped the tire.

This course presents Solutions and Review of the FIRST LEGO League 2020-2021 RePlay competition. We do such a course every year after the competition. By moving through the course lessons, building the robot and attachment and completing the missions you will learn how to achieve FLL mission following good engineering principles for building robots, attachments and developing programs. M03. Slide

This robotics video tutorial is about the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition and how we accomplish the Slide mission with a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot. The goal of the Slide mission is to collect two LEGO Mini figures and bring them back to base. We are demonstrating a simple attachment that collects 2 figures placed in an add way. The whole attachment must bring one of the figures up and then back.

FIRST LEGO League 2020-2021 RePlay Solutions and review with Robot Inventor

This course presents Solutions and Review of the FIRST LEGO League 2021 RePlay competition and it uses LEGO MIndstorms Robot Inventor as a base. It is a mirror course to the LEGO Education SPIKE course for the same competition. For each mission in the competition the course contains the rules for the mission, a tutorial how to accomplish it, instructions for the robot that is used and instructions for the attachment that is used. Every lesson also contains a Scratch and a Python program for accomplishing the mission and of course a 10 out of 10 tutorial that demonstrated how reliable the approach is. Upon completion of the course you will have many new ideas about how to approach mission on every FLL robotics competition and how to help your team score more points.

M03: Slide

The Slide mission the FIRST LEGO League 2020 is about the LEGO Minifigures sliding down the slide and the robot bringing them back to base. We must somehow bring then back do base. Do we push them on the Slide? Do we pull them? Or we could lift them. In this video tutorial we decided to pull the minifigures, but there is a catch.
